This Privacy Policy describes how World Possible ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the DataPost mobile application (the "App").

By using DataPost, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.

1. Who We Are

World Possible is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing educational content to communities without reliable internet access through the RACHEL (Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education and Learning) network. DataPost is the official companion app for educators and digital couriers who deliver educational content between RACHEL devices and the World Possible gateway.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate the App.

2.1 Account Information

When you sign in to DataPost, we collect:

  • Email address: provided by you (email sign-in) or by Google (Google Sign-In)
  • Name: provided by you or by Google

This information is used to identify you as the courier responsible for content deliveries and to associate delivery records with your account.

2.2 Location Information

When you grant location permission, DataPost collects your precise location (GPS coordinates) to:

  • Tag transferred files with the location where the delivery took place
  • Allow World Possible to track which RACHEL devices have been visited and when
  • Improve coverage analysis for our educational programs

Location data is only collected while you are actively using the App. We do not track your location in the background.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

DataPost does not collect:

  • Photos, videos, or media from your device
  • Contacts or address book
  • Browsing or web history
  • Health, fitness, or financial data
  • Calendar events
  • Microphone or camera input
  • Device identifiers for advertising purposes

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Authenticate you and maintain your account
  • Associate delivered educational bundles with the responsible courier
  • Tag bundle deliveries with geographic location for program analytics
  • Display your delivery history within the App
  • Communicate with you about the App when necessary

We do not use your information for advertising or marketing purposes.

4. How Information Is Stored

  • On your device: account information (email, name) is stored securely in the iOS Keychain.
  • On our servers: bundle delivery records (including the GPS coordinates that tag each file) are uploaded to the World Possible gateway server, which we control and operate.
  • We retain account and delivery information for as long as your account remains active.

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with Google, Google will share your email address, name, and profile photo URL with DataPost. Google's use of your information is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

We do not share any additional information with Google beyond what is required for sign-in.

5.2 No Other Third Parties

DataPost does not use third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We do not share your information with third parties except:

  • With Google, only as described in Section 5.1, and only if you choose to sign in with Google
  • If required by law, court order, or legal process
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of World Possible, our users, or others

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information

8. Children's Privacy

DataPost is intended for use by adult educators and couriers. The App is not designed for or directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:

  • Account credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain, which uses hardware-backed encryption
  • Communication with the World Possible gateway uses HTTP within controlled network environments; sensitive credentials are never transmitted unencrypted
  • Access to the World Possible gateway is restricted to authorized personnel

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but make every reasonable effort to protect your information.

10. International Users

DataPost may be used worldwide. By using the App, you consent to your information being transferred to and stored on servers operated by World Possible, which may be located in the United States or other jurisdictions.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
